Magnification grows through means. A heart does not become reverent by wish alone. It must be taught, reminded, awakened, and disciplined.

The first way to build magnification is to know Allah through His names and attributes. The servant studies the meanings of Allah’s names: the Most Great, the Most High, the Magnificent, the King, the All-Knowing, the All-Powerful, the Most Merciful, the All-Wise, the Ever-Living, the All-Sustaining. Each name opens a door of reverence. Each attribute corrects a weakness in the heart.

The second way is to reflect on the Quran. The Quran is filled with Allah’s greatness. It tells us who Allah is, what He loves, what He hates, what He promises, what He warns against, how He dealt with past nations, how He answers His servants, and how all matters return to Him. A person who reads quickly may pass over these meanings, but the one who reflects finds the heart being rebuilt.

The third way is to contemplate creation. The heavens, the earth, the mountains, the seas, the stars, the wind, the rain, the alternation of night and day, the human body, the animals, the tiny creatures, and the vastness of the universe are all signs. The greatness of creation is not the end of reflection; it is a sign pointing to the greatness of the Creator.

The fourth way is to remember Allah’s blessings. Food, safety, health, guidance, repentance, family, knowledge, time, breath, shelter, and the concealment of sins are all from Allah. A heedless heart enjoys blessings and forgets the Giver. A reverent heart sees blessings and becomes more humble.

The fifth way is to consider the end of arrogant people. The Quran repeatedly shows the fall of those who denied, mocked, oppressed, and felt self-sufficient. Their strength did not save them. Their wealth did not protect them. Their armies did not prevent Allah’s command. This teaches the heart not to be deceived by temporary power.

The sixth way is to study the lives of those who magnified Allah: the prophets, the truthful, the righteous, and the scholars of guidance. Their reverence appears in worship, patience, courage, humility, and refusal to compromise Allah’s command.
