Commentary

Past nations denied their prophets and ultimately faced ruin. The Quran frequently references the stories of Ad, Thamud, and others as evidence. The Quran recalls events of the past as a lesson for us, as history is God’s open book: those who defy moral truth inevitably collapse under its weight. The verse warns us not to repeat these patterns.

Guidance 

History is a mirror; those who repeat the past’s sins meet the past’s fate. The historical accounts of past nations and their fate are real and are not fiction. The stories of past nations serve as a stark reminder for us to avoid the same mistakes.
